Jack's Story

"What makes a good Team Foster carer’ by Jack"*

First time I believed I belonged

They believe I can do anything, now so do I

I am treated the same as their children

They put their foster child first, and as my mum would do, they will take my bullet

They say no, but the most important thing is they explain why

The day the child walks into the house it is important that it gets that feeling the same as I did, that they’ll be there forever

They go to my meetings and fight my corner

They tell me it’s not my fault

I can tell them anything and they will help

They take you to extraordinary things, like on planes, and make you feel special

Nine carers and my 11th Birthday before I got my first birthday cake
