Carer Transfer FAQs

Find out what’s involved in transferring to Team Fostering.

We know that even if you’re an existing foster carer with another fostering agency or local authority, it’s still quite a step to take to transfer somewhere new. To help you with the process, we’ve answered some key questions you might have about transferring to Team Fostering here.

No. We make sure that there is no break in payments while you are transferring, and this is so that you are able to provide the best quality of care.

Yes, you’ll need to tell them before you submit your formal application. Your agency will need to know you’re leaving and we’ll need to seek a reference from them. However we advise you don’t resign from them until you have been approved by our Panel and we’re happy to have initial conversations with you before you tell them.

You’ll still need to go through the same assessment process. However, we’ll update your existing Form F and aim to get you to Panel in 4 months.

Yes. Even if you are currently paid less by your agency, your pay at Team Fostering will rise to match what all of our current carers are paid. For more information on fees and benefits, click here.

You can start off with a completely confidential chat with one of our recruitment team where you can ask us any questions without any obligation to make a decision at this stage.

You can contact us by submitting an online enquiry or calling us on 0800 292 2003. We also have a Live Chat operator who can take your details via the website.

If after speaking to us you would like to take things further we’ll arrange for one of our friendly and experienced team members to come out and visit you to get to know you and your family a bit better. If all sides are happy to proceed, we will allocate you a Form F Assessor and begin an assessment to take to panel. We aim to complete transferring assessments in no longer than 4 months.
