Children and young people share their experiences of being with Team Fostering.

Here is what some of our young people have had to say about their time at Team Fostering:

I have been with Team Fostering for 4 years. It is really good, we get to meet new people your age and go on different activities. My advice is to go the activities and meet new people.

Time in current foster home: 8 months

What is it like being in care? It feels ok, and nice and there is always someone to talk to.

What sort of activities are provided by Team Fostering? We do lots of fun activities from walking to things you can learn about.

Is it fun being part of the Team Fostering Family? Yes it is fun!

What is the best thing about living with your carer? They are always there for me and support me in anyway they can.

Who would you talk to if you were unhappy? My social worker, Guardian or someone from Team Fostering’s Education and Support Service.

Time in current foster home: 2 years and 1 month

What is it like being in care? No different to being at home – I feel like part of the family.

What sort of activities are provided by Team Fostering? There is lots provided, many fun days out and a fun caravan holiday every year.

Is it fun being part of the Team Fostering Family? Yes!

What is the best thing about living with your carer? I get to try new things, and am allowed to be independent at times and feel like I am trusted

Who would you talk to if you were unhappy? Anyone at the Team Fostering office, or my social worker

Time in current foster home: 2 years

What is it like being in care? It’s great, I enjoy it, it’s a really good adventure!

What sort of activities are provided by Team Fostering? We do all sorts, there is a mixture of things for different ages including Life Skills for 73+. I really enjoy this and get to learn about independence

Is it fun being part of the Team Fostering Family? Yes – I enjoy it as I get to meet new people, make new friends and try new things.

What is the best thing about living with your carer? My carer is always up for a laugh and there to talk to if I need her

Who would you talk to if you were unhappy? If I wasn’t happy, I would talk to my foster carer or my social worker.

What is it like being in care? Good because I get to do a lot more than I used to.

What sort of activities are provided by Team Fostering? Lots of good activities and things for all ages like Go Karting!

Is it fun being part of the Team Fostering Family? Yes

What is the best thing about living with your carer? She looks after me and does everything to help me.

Who would you talk to if you were unhappy? My foster carer or social worker.

What is it like being in care? Fun – my carers are very caring and help me to make good choices.

What sort of activities are provided by Team Fostering? Go-Karting, hiking, and a residential.

Is it fun being part of the Team Fostering Family? Yes – I get to make new friends who are in the same situation as me and its good to know that other people have had similar experiences.

What is the best thing about living with your carer? I get taken out places and my foster carers goes out of their way to take me to things like cadets and my other hobbies.

Who would you talk to if you were unhappy? I would talk to any Team Fostering staff member about any problems or things I’m unhappy about.

What is it like being in care? It is really annoying sometimes, as I get restricted screen time, but the rest of the time is really good!

What sort of activities are provided by Team Fostering? I’ve been ice skating and Go-Karting

Is it fun being part of the Team Fostering Family? Yes – really fun, especially the activities

What is the best thing about living with your carer? Every Saturday I get to stay up late and watch a movie and we have sweets, drinks and pizza!

Who would you talk to if you were unhappy? I would talk to my foster carer, Team Fostering, or my principle at school.

Time in current foster home: 2 years

What is it like being in care? Fine. It’s fun ’cause you are supported to do what you want to do.

What sort of activities are provided by Team Fostering? I take part in Project Listen, Life Skills and get to go on a caravan holiday every year.

Is it fun being part of the Team Fostering Family? Yes, they make you feel like part of the family and you never feel left out.

What is the best thing about living with your carer? I get to go on lots of holidays with my carers and some of these are abroad.

Who would you talk to if you were unhappy? I would talk to the Education staff at Team Fostering, or my Foster Carers

Time in current foster home: 3 years

What is it like being in care? Fun, energetic and nice.

What sort of activities are provided by Team Fostering? Everything ranging from Laser Quest to holidays to rock climbing.

Is it fun being part of the Team Fostering Family? Yes!

What is the best thing about living with your carer? They make me feel welcome and make me feel like a family member

Who would you talk to if you were unhappy? Team Fostering Staff and carers.
