Family Support Worker (Northeast)

Hybrid Working

We offer a blend of home and office-based working arrangements, to support a healthy work-life balance for all our staff. This will be a minimum of one day per week working based either at our North Tyneside or Middlesbrough office.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week covering Monday to Sunday

Salary: £30,503.16 – £34,655.00

The focus of the role is to provide appropriate advice, support, and guidance to foster carers, enabling them to continue providing care, stability, and positive outcomes for the children and young people in their care

The successful applicant will have:

  • Experience of working with children and young people
  • An understanding of the challenges that children and young people face and the barriers to success
  • Strong advocacy skills
  • An ability to relate well to children and young people and to use a variety of strategies to engage them and help overcome disaffection and low self esteem
  • The ability to use initiative successfully within a team and when working alone
  • Strong mediation skills
  • an understanding of safeguarding issues
  • A can-do attitude and a willingness to learn

 

PLEASE NOTE in order to fulfil the travel requirements of the post, we can only consider applications from individuals who hold a valid driving licence and have access to a car.
