As September draws to a close, so does our #MyTeamFostering campaign. Over the last month, we’ve heard from children, carers, staff and industry colleagues alike, sharing their stories and experiences of Team Fostering.
Though the ‘This is My Team Fostering’ campaign, we’ve shared blogs, videos and quotes from our Team Fostering network, exploring subjects like support, wellbeing, inspiration, motivation, commitment, training and more.
Foster carer Helen discussed her journey into fostering, sharing insight into the support she and her partner Neil have received from both Team Fostering their fellow foster carers, and the often small, but extremely rewarding things that keep them going when times aren’t easy.
We chatted with long-term Recruitment Social Worker Douglas about why, after almost 20 years, he continues to come into work with a smile on his face, even on Saturdays, and the brilliant achievements of Team Fostering’s young people that remain close to his heart.
Principal Placement Officer Liz explained how, while trying to juggle a demanding job and a young family in uncertain circumstances this year, her colleagues here at Team Fostering have given her the support and flexibility she needed to power through difficult times.
Foster carer Viv shared her thoughts on the different kinds of Team Fostering support that she’s found so valuable during her time with the agency – from our activities and education support, to our Memorial Funds and always being available at the end of a phone whenever needed.
Foster carer Sarah talked about how, although she’s moving away from fostering this year, her Team Fostering experience has been so positive that she’ll treasure the memories, achievements and connections made along the way.
And Placements Officer Rachel, inspired by the stories of the children she encounters every day, created a stunning poem exploring the moving experiences she has when she’s matching young people with foster carers.
